12. Home Remedies For Anorexia

1. Orange Juice  

A very effective and beneficial treatment for anorexia is orange therapy. Drink a glass of orange juice every two hours throughout the day for 2-3 days. This helps to remove unwanted toxins from your digestive system, thereby thoroughly cleansing it. Orange juice helps to rest the digestive tract and stimulate appetite among anorexia nervosa sufferers. Remember not to take anything else in between.

2. Lemon

Lime and ginger work together to build up your appetite and get you attracted to food. Mix equal quantities of lime juice and ginger juice. Add a little bit of rock salt and place the mixture in the sun for three days. Cover it with a muslin cloth to prevent dust and dirt from going in. Consume one teaspoon of this mixture every day before your meals. It will help to enhance your appetite and also aid your digestion.

Lemon works great as a system cleanser. One lemon squeezed in a glass of lukewarm water with a pinch of salt, drunk in the morning, cleanses the system thoroughly. Add some ginger juice to make it more effective. Lemon tones up the system as well, getting the body back to its optimal conditions.

3. Garlic

It is one of the best and easy home remedy for treating anorexia. It is very helpful in curing stomach gas, allergies, circulation and proper digestion. Boil 2 to 3 cloves of garlic with a cup of a water. Strain the solution and ½ lime juice in it. Drink this solution 2 times a day for a week to reduce anorexia. Many people consume 2 to 3 cloves of garlic in the morning in empty stomach. Consume garlic as much as you can. You can also add garlic paste or pieces in the foods and soups that you are consuming. Consuming garlic will help in reducing anorexia. You can also consume 2 to 3 teaspoon of garlic juice. It is an antibiotic. It increase appetite of the body. 
4. Ginger

Ginger can help in curing anorexia. It is the best, simple and effective home remedy for anorexia. Try to consume a good amount of ginger. Take a pinch of salt, few drops of lime juice and add it in the ½ teaspoon of ginger paste. Consume this mixture 2 times in a day for few weeks. You can also drink tea by adding ginger.

5. Apple

Anorexics should be served one or two apples every day. Apples contain certain natural enzymes which stimulate the production of pepsin. Increased production of pepsin by the digestive tract can hasten the digestion process.

6. Sour Grapes

Sour grapes also help to kick start an anorexic individual’s appetite. it comes to stimulating the appetite. The juice from sour grapes is extracted and is utilised to knead bread dough. A pinch of rock salt might be added to the dough. Then, chappatis are made out of this dough which when consumed at a stretch for fifteen days will enhance the appetite there by curing the person of anorexia.

7. Cinnamon

10. Mint

Mint is natural appetizer, so consume 2 spoonfuls of mint juice in the morning to help increase your hunger. Within a few days of taking mint juice, you will see a marked change in your eating habits and you will feel more of a craving for food.

11. Pineapple

This is a great home remedy for treating anorexia at home and quite simple to follow. Just consume fresh pineapple every day in the morning. It will help you feel hungry throughout the day and create an urge to eat.

12. Soups

Individuals suffering from anorexia should be given plenty of fresh soups. Mildly spiced fresh vegetable and chicken soup can improve an anorexics appetite levels.
