Home Remedies to Cure Loose Motions

Loose motion, also known as an upset stomach or diarrhea, is a very common health issue. Watery bowel movements are very common and are usually not very serious. It may cause loss of water and minerals from the body.The body start to function normal when all toxins are out. Meanwhile, It is strongly recommended that you should intake more water based drinks than you excrete to keep the water level maintained. Failed to do so can get you in troubles like Dehydration. 1. Have plenty of water and other liquids

A person suffering from loose motions loses water from his body in large quantities. To avoid dehydration and other relevant problems, he must have plenty of water and other juices to compensate for the water loss. It also helps in flushing out bacteria from the intestinal tract responsible for infection.

2. Consume Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS)

As there is loss of water, due to dysentery, it is very good to drink electrolytes. The most popular electrolyte is ORS that energizes and gives good relaxation to the body. 3. Buttermilk

It has an effective acid which helps the patient to fight against the bacteria and other germs or microorganisms which are responsible for loose motions. It also helps in controlling loose motions as well as compensates for the water loss from the body. Salt can also be added to buttermilk and have this drink 2-3 times a day.

4. Ginger

Try eating a little ginger as it reduces the formation of unpleasant gases in the stomach, thereby, helping in controlling loose  motions.

5. Honey

  Honey is a natural medicine that can cure a lot of health problems and is very effective in fighting loose stools. Take a teaspoon of fresh and pure honey. It would be better if you get hold of organic honey. Add ½ a teaspoon of cinnamon powder and the pure honey in a glass of warm water. Mix it well. Drink this water on empty stomach early in the morning. Then repeat the same at least two times in the day to cure your bladder infection.You will see visible results in two days time.

6. Mint, Lemon and Honey

Mint is very valuable in treating diarrhoea. It may be given in any form. If one teaspoon of mint juice is given with a teaspoon of lime juice and one teaspoon of honey, it shows excellent result. This mixture may be given two or three times a day.

7. Sweet lime/Coconut water

In case of mild loose motions, one can also try taking sweet lime water or coconut water.

8. Bottle Gourd Juice

Bottle gourd juice is an excellent drink that must be given to people suffering from loose motions as it will help in retaining the  water content in the body and prevent the body from getting dehydrated.Take a fresh bottle gourd, peel the skin and then cut it into small pieces. Now put these pieces in a blender and mash it well. Squeeze out the juice from the mash mixture and consume it two times a day to restore the water level of the body and to not get dehydrated when suffering from loose motion.

9. Bananas

Both raw and ripe bananas can help treat diarrhea due to their pectin content. This water-soluble fiber helps absorb fluids in the intestines, which in turn helps add bulk to the stool.
Being high in potassium, it even helps replace electrolytes that may be lost during diarrhea.
A 2001 study published in Gastroenterology found that the pectin in green bananas is useful in the dietary management of persistent diarrhea.
It can reduce the amount of stool, frequency of vomiting and duration of diarrhea, as well as reduce the need for oral rehydration solutions or intravenous fluids.
Another 2012 study published in the Journal of Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry also confirms that intake of bananas is beneficial for people suffering from diarrhea.
  • When dealing with loose motions, eat a ripe banana every few hours.
  • You can even have ripe banana and yogurt smoothies, 2 or 3 times a day.
  • Another option is to steam or boil a raw banana, mash it and then add a little lemon juice and a pinch of salt before eating.

10. Loose Motions Remedy with Wood apple(Bael fruit)

Take 25gm of dried bael fruit powder and add honey. Taking this mixture 3 to 4 times a day gives relief.

11. Lemon Juice

It has some medicinal properties which help in bringing the upset digestive system back to its normal state. You can boil the lemon juice and mix it with water. Drink this liquid when still somewhat warm to have instant relief from loose motions. Banana- It is such a fruit which helps in fast recovery from loose motions. It can be taken in raw or ripe form. It helps in relieving symptoms of loose motions and makes the functioning of digestive system normal. It can also be taken by mixing it to curd. Alternatively, you can also chop the raw bananas after boiling the same. Add salt to it and eat the same to get relieved of loose motions

Berries contain antioxidant and antibacterial compounds. These natural contents are very effective for upset stomach especially for loose motion. You can eat both blueberries and blackberries when you are suffering from diarrhea

13.  Mustard Seeds

Mustard seeds are found to have certain antibacterial properties that will be effective in treating loose stools. Add ¼ teaspoon of mustard seeds in a tablespoon of water. Keep it there for one hour. Now drink this water like you take a regular oral tonic. Repeat it for two to three times a day to get rid of loose stools

 It is another effective natural cure for treating loose motions. It also provides a soothing effect to the stomach. It is always recommended to have yogurt with live cultures because it directly reaches the intestinal tract. You will be relived immediately. Bottle Gourd- You can also try fresh bottle gourd juice two times a day to treat loose motions naturally. It gives double benefit by relieving the loose motions and compensating for the water loss

15. Brown Rice

Eating a special food prepared with brown rice is very helpful in curing loose motion as it contains a significant amount of vitamin B.This brown rice remedy helps in calming many symptoms of diarrhea. You have to boil a cup of brown rice to prepare this food. Once the rice is boiled and mild enough you can then add one ripe banana with it.You should eat the preparation three times in a day to get the quickest result.

16. Jamun

Loose motions can be cured by the leaf of jamun . Take 2 and a half leaf of jamun that shouldn’t be either thick or soft and then mix salt in them and make tablets .Take one tablet in morning and evening.

 17. Castor Oil

Give small doses of castor oil in the form of mixture to the patient to minimize straining during bowel movement. It facilitates quicker elimination of toxic matter and acts as a lubricant and gentle purgative.

18. Carrot

Carrot is a rich source of vitamins and minerals specially pectin. It’s one of very useful home remedies for loose motion. Carrots can be consumed in several ways. You can eat it as juice while you can make some special recipes with carrots.
